Accessible only by boat, this uninhabited island paradise lies southwest of the mouth of Tampa Bay. Just over one and a half miles in length, this tiny island is packed full of history from the Seminole Wars through World War II. You can explore the ruins of Fort Dade, tour the 1858 lighthouse and walk the red brick “roads to nowhere.” Designated a National Wildlife Refuge in 1974, this undeveloped island is home to gopher tortoises, hummingbirds and other seabirds. In fact, the entire southern third of Egmont Key is closed off as a shore bird wildlife sanctuary. Submerged on…

Grillin’ & Chillin’ on Victory’s Flybridge

If you enjoy grilling and the great outdoors, Victory Yacht’s Flybridge is the perfect spot for you. Imagine, grilling on the top deck of your own private yacht while cruising through the gulf waters off the coast of Florida, anchoring off a remote island or a barrier island with pristine white sand beaches and emerald waters as far as the eye can see while enjoying a grilled burger and an ice-cold beer.  Or maybe in a remote location somewhere in the Bahamas, succulent skewers of shrimp, pineapple and vegetables on the grill and a tropical drink in hand, with a…

Exhilarating Fun on the Water Toys

One of the things that sets Victory apart is the selection of Water Toys on board.  There is something for everyone; a kayak, a paddle board, snorkel gear, an island tender, a tube for tubing, and best of all TWO jet skis. The kayak and paddle board are great for exploring the waters, dolphin watching, or paddling to the beach to relax for a few hours.  If paddling isn’t your thing, no worries, the island tender will get you to the beach in minutes.  And don’t forget to take some snorkel gear with you! The jet skis are by far…

Sunshine Skyway Bridge

Probably one of the things Victory guests anticipate and enjoy most when cruising with us is passing under the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. As we head out of the marina towards the mouth of Tampa Bay, not too far off in the distance, the awe-inspiring Sunshine Skyway Bridge protrudes up from the gulf waters. But not until we pass under it do our guests truly realize the immensity of this grand structure. One of the longest bridges in the United States, the Sunshine Skyway Bridge is a sight to behold. And if you think it’s amazing as you pass under or…

The Burger Boat Company

The Burger Boat Company was founded in 1863 by Henry Burger, the youngest son of Dutch immigrants Simon and Margaretta Brauburger. The family came to America in 1846, making their home in Jeffersonville, New York, and eventually shortened their name to Burger. In 1856, the Burger family relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It was here that Henry, now 18, began apprenticing as a shipbuilder for the Wolf & Davidson Shipyard. In 1863, at the age of 24 and during the American Civil War, Henry relocated to a small community in Manitowoc, Wisconsin on the western shores of Lake Michigan, married the…
